The Problem

Bangladesh lacks a centralized education database — students, parents, and researchers have no way to discover, compare, or analyze 90,000+ institutions across the country.

The Approach

A modular monolithic platform with fee intelligence, institution comparison engine, automated web scraper, and a public REST API — built on Laravel 13 with full-text search via Meilisearch.

Highlights

  • Engineered a modular monolith with 12+ modules across 52+ database tables for institution discovery, comparison, and fee analysis.
  • Built Fee Intelligence Engine — a multi-dimensional analyzer computing fee ranges, medians, and percentile distributions by institution type and location.
  • Developed Institution Comparison Engine enabling side-by-side evaluation of admission fees, semester costs, and total cost of attendance across multiple institutions.
  • Implemented automated web scraper system with configurable adapters for government portals (BANBEIS, DSHE, UGC) and institution websites.
  • Designed a public REST API v1 with 19 endpoints serving institution data, fee insights, and comparison results with pagination and filtering.
  • Built an Institute Portal with ownership claims, allowing institutions to claim, verify, and update their profiles.
  • Containerized full stack with Docker for VPS deployment with Redis Horizon queue supervisors and automated CI/CD.
