My Journey

One of my earliest memories is from around 2001, when our family got its first computer. Like many kids at the time, I spent countless hours playing games such as Need for Speed II, Virtua Cop 2, Road Rash, and Age of Empires. At the time, I only knew I loved computers and gaming—I had no idea that this curiosity would eventually shape my career.

Fast forward to 2010–2011, when I bought my first Symbian phone after using several Java phones. One day I discovered USB tethering and Wi-Fi hotspot. I remember using my mobile data to share internet with other devices and genuinely feeling like I had invented something new. Looking back, it's funny—but that excitement for discovering how technology worked never really left me.

Around 2013, I switched to Android. Before long, I became bored with the default interface and started customizing everything I could. It began with launchers, icon packs, and themes, but eventually I discovered rooting and custom ROMs.

"That opened an entirely new world."

I spent countless hours experimenting with different ROMs, kernels, and system modifications on my LG Nexus 4. I even installed Ubuntu Touch and configured MultiROM so I could boot multiple operating systems from a single device. Along the way, I also jailbroke iPhones and iPads simply because I wanted to understand how they worked beneath the surface.

During this time, I also continued one of my other hobbies—photographing nature and landscapes—but my curiosity for technology was always the constant.

Although I had always enjoyed technology and gadgets, web development didn't enter my life until much later.

In 2013, I enrolled in a Diploma in Engineering program. During my industrial training in 2016, a friend introduced me to a software company in Chittagong called Rcreation.

As part of our final project, we built a simple blood donation application using Java and NetBeans. After presenting the project, both my friend and I joined Rcreation as interns.

I started with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and MySQL, and I remember building the frontend for an entire e-commerce website. Later, I worked on several Native PHP and CodeIgniter applications. I spent about two years there, learning through real projects and practical experience.

Despite gaining experience, I eventually realized something important—my fundamentals weren't as strong as I wanted them to be.

"Rather than continuing forward with weak foundations, I decided to start over."

In 2021, I joined AMCoders as an intern. After three months, I was offered a permanent position. Although I spent only seven months there in total, those months were incredibly valuable. I learned rapidly, worked on multiple projects within a short period, and significantly strengthened my Laravel skills.

Looking back, starting over was one of the best decisions I made for my career.

In October 2021, I applied to more than 100 jobs before finally receiving an offer from Electronic First, where I currently work as a Backend Developer.

It has now been over five years.

During this time, I've grown from solving relatively small backend problems to designing and implementing scalable production solutions. I've worked on Laravel upgrades—from Laravel 5 to Laravel 9, and now Laravel 13—while helping build systems that process thousands of daily transactions.

I've faced complex engineering challenges, implemented numerous production features, and worked on solutions that have directly improved the company's products and business. More importantly, every challenge has helped build my confidence as an engineer.
